Whether inherited or caused by injury to the mouth, early or late loss of baby teeth, or thumb-sucking habits, orthodontic problems are common. When caught early, we can treat these issues more easily which can help reduce the time needed for orthodontic treatment as your child grows. Orthodontic issues such as crowding of the teeth, too much space between the teeth, jaw growth problems, protruding teeth, and bad bites can all be treated with early interceptive treatment.
Orthodontic procedures for adults often take more time and can involve tooth extraction or oral surgery. Most children lose all their baby teeth by age 13, and by the end of their teen years, the jaw bones stop growing. Receiving early orthodontic treatment as a child can reduce the need for more invasive procedures.
If your child is between the ages of seven and eight, please schedule a complimentary appointment. We’ll do an initial exam and discuss the best steps to take toward caring for your child's smile. Not every child needs early orthodontic treatment, but with professional monitoring of their jaw growth we can keep tabs and help your child’s smile grow along with the rest of them.
